“I had rather be a door keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."
Psalm 84:10
Besides passing out bulletins and the offering plates, ushers serve as intercessors, public relations representatives, warriors in the spirit, spiritual "guardians of the gates," altar ministry workers and/or assistants, traffic controllers, information providers, crisis handlers, waiters, greeters, chair handlers, crowd control…
Upon entering our sanctuary the Ushers Ministry is the first persons you will see.
Here at Cleveland Chapel, we help the Pastor to make the service a success by putting the congregation in the right frame of mind, to receive the message by greeting our members and guests with a pleasant smile, a warm welcome. Also we see to it that perfect order is kept in and around the church at all times during service.
The calling to be an Usher is a calling of great respect and honor. In order to fulfill this calling you must be humble and sensitive to the needs of others. This is a ministry that God has called you for and any service done unto the Lord is praise unto the Most High God.
